This time we will introduce “Holme Ringer & Co.,Ltd”, located about a 2-minute walk from JR Mojiko Station!
This Western-style building was constructed in 1962 and is designated as a national tangible cultural property.
“Holme Ringer & Co.,Ltd” was founded in 1868 by British trader Frederick Ringer and Edward Z. Home.
The company, which contributed greatly to the development of Nagasaki, was closed during the war, and was reopened in Moji by its former Japanese employees as Home Linga Shokai .
Currently, he is running an agency for foreign ships .


Mojiko Retro is home to many historic red brick buildings from the Meiji and Taisho periods, but while this building is not as historic or showy as these, you can still feel the history of “Holme Ringer & Co.,Ltd”, which supported the development of Mojiko .
It is a small, two-story Western-style building with a cute exterior.
Located in front of JR Mojiko Station, “Holme Ringer & Co.,Ltd” is a must-visit spot for those touring Mojiko Retro.

It is about a 2-minute walk from JR Mojiko Station and sits quietly between the “Osaka Shosen Building” and “Premier Hotel Mojiko.”

The red brick building in front of you is the Former Osaka Shosen Building.


From here you can see the Premier Hotel Mojiko right in front of you.
From the outside, the “Osaka Shosen Building” and the “Premier Hotel Mojiko” stand out so much that it’s almost like you’re going to overlook the small presence of “Holme Ringer & Co.,Ltd” (lol).

Don’t miss it and make sure you find “Holme Ringer & Co.,Ltd”!
It is a whitish-pink two-story building with the words “HOLME RINGER” written on it in English.


You cannot enter the building and can only view it from the outside.
It’d be nice to drop in for a retro tour of Mojiko Port.
You can’t go inside the building, so you’ll have to view it from the outside.

When viewed from the sea side, the building has the word “RINGER” written on it in large letters, and it is small and rather cute compared to the surrounding buildings.

It looks spectacular, sandwiched between the former Osaka Shosen Building and Premier Hotel Mojiko.
“Holme Ringer & Co.,Ltd” is a cute little building.
Right next to “Holme Ringer & Co.,Ltd” is the magnificent Kanmon Strait!



By the way, right next to “Holme Ringer & Co.,Ltd” is a seaside promenade with a spectacular view!!
The blue sky and the ocean are so beautiful!!!

If you walk a little way along the promenade, you will come to the Blue Wing Moji (drawbridge).
Luckily the bridge happened to be up at this time.

Right next to “Holme Ringer & Co.,Ltd” is a promenade with a view of the Kanmon Straits.
The area around “Holme Ringer & Co.,Ltd” has the best Mojiko retro scenery.

JR Mojiko Station is about a one-minute walk from Home Linga Shokai.
This charming station building has been restored from the Taisho era and is designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan.




If you go in the opposite direction from JR Mojiko Station from Home Linga Shokai, you will be able to see this wonderful Mojiko Retro townscape in just a 1-2 minute walk!
The blue sky, the sea, and the retro townscape are just amazing!!!
I absolutely love the atmosphere of this port town.

Mojiko Retro is full of things to see, but “Holme Ringer & Co.,Ltd” is located right in front of JR Mojiko Station, so be sure to stop by when you’re strolling around Mojiko Retro.
“Holme Ringer & Co.,Ltd”any does not allow visitors to enter the building, so you can only view the exterior.
Right next to “Holme Ringer & Co.,Ltd” is a seaside promenade with a view of the Kanmon Straits, so the blue sky and sea are very pleasant.
You can also walk along the seaside promenade and cross the Blue Wing Moji (drawbridge)!
