Hello! I’m Hitapapa and I love hot springs.
Today we will be introducing you to “KKR Yamaguchi Asakura”, a lodging located in Yuda Onsen, Yamaguchi Prefecture!
The greatest appeal of “KKR Yamaguchi Asakura” is that, as it is a resort for national government employees, it is reasonably priced, yet is clean, has good quality hot spring water, and serves delicious food.
By the way, of course, anyone can stay at the hotel, even if they are not national civil servants.
- Affordable
- Clean (The building and rooms have been renovated)
- The hot spring water is of good quality (slippery, beautiful skin water, sulfur smell)
- The food is delicious
By the way, the plan I stayed this time was,
- Saturday Accommodation
- 3 adults and 3 children in one room
- Comes with puffer fish sashimi and grilled Japanese beef
So, it costs just under 20,000 yen per adult.
It has two rooms in one room, a hearth, is very clean, and has a high-quality hot spring with an open-air bath and garden, so I think the price is very reasonable.
So let’s get started!

Exterior

The exterior is also beautiful!

A beautifully maintained garden welcomes you.
Lobby

The lobby is spacious and beautiful. You can see the garden from the window.

The shop has a wide selection of souvenirs from Yamaguchi Prefecture.

There is also a kids’ room where you can play!
My kids (ages 6, 3, and 1) were crazy about the kids’ room (laughs).
The room

There is one that looks like a hearth.
The round stones are laid out in a way that massages your feet.

The rooms are very clean! The tatami mats, sliding doors, and shoji screens are all clean!
I wasn’t able to take a photo, but there is another tatami room.

The sweets in your room are almond florentines.
It’s crispy, fragrant and delicious!
Hot spring

The baths are alternated between men and women on a daily basis.
There were no guests in the bath so I was able to take lots of photos!
lucky!
Indoor bath

The indoor bath is very spacious!

Plenty of hot spring water flows freely from the source.

The bathrooms are clean and there are plenty of showers.
Of course, shampoo, conditioner and body soap are provided.
Open-air bath

The beautiful garden open-air bath even comes with a bench for resting.

The hot spring looks colorless and transparent, but it has a very strong sulfur smell!
It is alkaline (ph9.2) and very slimy and smooth!
It’s very slippery so be careful not to fall.
The spring quality is alkaline simple sulfur spring.
This may be a bit of a geeky topic, but acidic sulfur springs can be quite harsh on the skin, but this alkaline sulfur spring is soft and very gentle on the skin.

Being able to look at the garden while taking a bath in the open-air bath is the best ♡

This is a ceramic bath.
The hot spring water is poured directly into small ceramic vessels, so the water is super fresh!
In terms of the quality of the water alone, this ceramic bath was the most slippery and smooth, and also had the strongest sulfur smell!
My eldest son (6 years old) loved this ceramic bath and spent all his time in it (lol).
Hot Spring Analysis Chart

The hot spring is rich in metasilicic acid, a component said to be good for the skin.

Thoughts
“KKR Yamaguchi Asakura” is very attractive because it is reasonably priced, clean, has good quality hot spring water, and serves delicious food!

The hot spring is alkaline (ph9.2) and has a slippery, smooth texture that is good for the skin.
It smells of sulfur and makes you think, “This is a hot spring!”
It was a very satisfying accommodation at a reasonable price.
I would definitely like to repeat this experience!
