We would like to introduce you to “Myoban Udon” from Myoban Onsen in Beppu.

Hello! I’m HitaPapa, and I love Onsen and eating out .

I’m a working father of three boys, and whenever I go to Beppu, I introduce the hot springs, gourmet food, and tourist spots in my blog.

This time we came to “Myoban Udon” located in Myoban Onsen in Beppu City, Oita Prefecture!

“Myoban Udon” is a restaurant located on the road from the tourist-filled Kannawa Onsen to Myoban Onsen in the mountains, and is one of the few restaurants in the Myoban Onsen area.

The homemade udon has a firm texture and a smooth texture and is delicious 😆

The soup stock, made with plenty of bonito and kelp, has a particularly strong bonito flavor and is very tasty.

It’s a popular restaurant that gets crowded with tourists at lunchtime.

“Myoban Udon” is located on the way from the Kannawa Onsen area, where you can visit the hells, to Myoban Onsen in the mountains.

It’s along a major road and there aren’t many shops nearby, so it’s easy to find.

There is also a parking lot in front of the store.

The parking lot is large and easy to park in.

The atmosphere of “Myoban Udon”

The restaurant has table seating, raised seating, and counter seating.

The warmth of the wood creates a calming Japanese atmosphere.

When I come to hot spring areas, I feel like there are a lot of udon and soba restaurants with warm atmosphere like this one.

The counter seats are made from a solid piece of wood.

It has depth and is very spacious.

There is a stove and firewood for heating inside the store.

Very interesting 😆

Hot roasted green tea and water are free.

Table condiments include ichimi and shichimi.

It’s nice that they have two types available.

The menu offers a variety of hot and cold udon and soba noodles.

There is also a wide selection of rice bowls.

There were so many options on the menu that it was hard to choose, but this time I chose udon noodles topped with Oita’s specialty, chicken tempura!

I’ll enjoy having Udon!

Chicken Tempura Udon (900 yen)

Shortly after ordering, the “Tori Ten Udon (900 yen)” arrived!

It comes topped with plenty of freshly fried chicken tempura.

First, we eat the freshly fried chicken tempura without dipping it in the soup.

It’s hot and freshly fried , the batter is crispy and delicious.

It’s quite well seasoned.

Next, we have some homemade udon noodles.

It has a very chewy and elastic texture .

It also has a very smooth feel .

Perhaps because it is so smooth, the surface of the udon shines white!

The elasticity and smooth texture are so delicious!

The broth is clear and has a beautiful brown color.

Apparently the soup stock is made with plenty of bonito and kelp.

It has a very strong bonito flavor and a great aroma !

The smooth texture of the udon noodles goes perfectly with the bonito-flavored broth.

As you eat it, the chicken tempura becomes soaked in the soup stock, and the umami flavor of the chicken tempura seeps into the soup stock.

The chicken tempura is thoroughly soaked in broth, making it soft and absorbing the broth well, making it delicious!

The udon noodles have a chewy and smooth texture and are delicious!

The broth becomes even more delicious with the flavor and fat of the chicken tempura infused into it !

Normally I try to watch my salt intake and leave as much of the udon broth as possible, but the aroma of this broth was so good that I ended up drinking it all up😆
