[Sun Messe Nichinan] Sightseeing,Travel(Miyazaki,Japan)

Hello! It’s Hitapapa!

I am a working father of three boys and I write a blog called “Hitapapa Blog” where I share the things I love 😆

This time we came to Sun Messe Nichinan in Nichinan City, Miyazaki Prefecture!

When you think of Nichinan, you think of the sea!

When you think of Sun Messe Nichinan, you think of the Moai statues!

Sun Messe Nichinan is a park where

A long time ago, Japanese people repaired broken Moai statues on Easter Island, and Sun Messe Nichinan is the only place in the world that is officially authorized by the people of Easter Island to create replicas of Moai statues .

The Moai statues at Sun Messe Nichinan are said to be faithful replicas of the Moai statues on Easter Island, and Sun Messe Nichinan is the only place in the world where you can see Moai statues outside of Easter Island!

Sun Messe Nichinan was an amazing place ( ゚Д゚)

It is a rare and unique park that combines blue sea, dazzling sun, natural hills, and Moai statues .

Whether you’re traveling as an adult or as a family with children, everyone can enjoy the abundant nature and the Moai statues.

Moai statues overlooking the hill

Sun Messe Nichinan is a park on top of a hill, and the parking lot is located halfway up the hill.

When you get out of the car at the parking lot, you can already see the Moai statues!

The Moai statues are facing you! And you can see the horizon of the ocean in the background!

Isn’t it too beautiful?

The combination of the sea, sky and Moai statues is beautiful

If you walk up the hill from the parking lot, you will find some entertainment spots and restaurants at the top.

The park is quite large, so it would be quite a challenge to walk around the entire area with children.

There are electric (gasoline?) powered carts that can be driven by anyone with a driver’s license, so although there is a fee, using the carts is very convenient.

As you go up the hill the Moai statues get smaller and smaller.

It’s quite spacious!

It was a bit disappointing that day, as it was cloudy and rainy, but thanks to the clear sky after the rain, a rainbow appeared above the Moai statues.

↑There is a faint rainbow above the Moai statues!!

I’m so happy to have come across such a lucky sight 😆

A rainbow over the Moai statues!

Lover’s Hill

As it is called “Lovers’ Hill”, there is a bell, a Moai statue, and commemorative photo spots, giving it the atmosphere of a “sacred place for lovers.”

The sight of the young couple having fun together was so lovely that I, a man in his 40s, decided to ring the bell after them.

Come to think of it, about 10 years ago, before we got married, my wife and I came to Sun Messe Nichinan. I wonder if we were so excited and shining like that? 😆

People with crossed legs (officially known as “voyants”)

Statues of men wearing sunglasses stand in a row with their legs crossed.

And there are seven of them! They’re all colorful! Looking in the same direction!

It’s quite a surreal sight.

The couple from earlier was happily sitting cross-legged next to the statue and taking photos.

After the couple, I took a commemorative photo with the kids, crossing my legs, too😆

The statue’s official name is “Voyant” (which apparently means “the viewer” in French), and it was created by a professor at Seian University of Art and Design.

HitaPapa

Let’s take a commemorative photo here for now.

Moai Statue

A row of Moai statues!

It has an overwhelming presence when viewed up close!

Behind the Moai statues is the horizon of the sea, and the collaboration between the Moai statues, sea, sky and plateau is amazing!

I thought that maybe my children (ages 7, 4 and 2) would find the Moai statues boring and uninteresting, but to my surprise they really liked them!

I don’t know what it was, but I was excited by the many huge statues and green spaces.。

HitaPapa

Seven Moai statues with surreal expressions lined up!

When you see it up close it looks big and sturdy.

It seems to have been created as a faithful reproduction of the Moai statues on Easter Island, so I touched the statue wondering if the real Moai statues were like this.

It is a heavy stone statue.

By the way, the back of the Moai statue looks like this.

For some reason, kids always want to go behind the Moai statues (laughs).

The Moai statues at Sun Messe Nichinan are great for both adults and children to enjoy.

Each of the seven Moai statues is said to have a superstition for “good luck in work,” “good luck in health,” “good luck in love,” “good luck on earth,” “good luck in marriage,” “good luck in money,” and “improved academic performance.”

Apparently it’s good to stroke the Moai statues with your hands.

I’d love to stroke them all, but I decided to focus on just one and stroke the Moai statue representing “good health”♪

With a healthy mind and body, you can do anything!!

HitaPapa

Let’s stroke the Moai statues that are said to grant wishes♪

A breathtaking view that truly resembles Hawaii!

Wait a minute!!

This view from the top of the hill at Sun Messe Nichinan is just like Hawaiiーーー😆😆

Miyazaki’s phoenix trees are reminiscent of palm trees, giving it a very Hawaiian feel!

The combination of the blue sea with visible horizon, the beautiful sky, the Phoenix trees, and the plateau is amazing.

There are a lot of people surfing in Nichinan, which makes it feel even more like Hawaii!!

Nichinan is like the Hawaii of Japan!!

HitaPapa

The view is reminiscent of Hawaii.
