[Sushi Meijin]Sightseeing, Travel, Gourmet, Onsen(Beppu,Oita,Japan)

Hello! I’m Hitapapa and I love hot springs!

This time, I went to “Sushi Meijin,” a cheap and delicious conveyor belt sushi restaurant in Beppu, Oita Prefecture.

It is located just a few minutes walk from Kannawa Onsen, an area with a variety of hot springs, including hell tours, steam baths, and countless steaming hot springs.

It’s located along National Route 500, so it’s easy to stop by by car.

This is a conveyor belt sushi restaurant that you should definitely stop by before or after sightseeing at Beppu Onsen or Kannawa Onsen.

Most of the plates are priced at 115 yen, 150 yen, or 220 yen, so you can enjoy delicious sushi at reasonable prices.

The restaurant is spacious with a total of 150 seats (counter and booths), and there is plenty of sushi that small children would enjoy, making it an easy place for families to visit.

Now let us introduce you to Sushi Meijin, a cheap and delicious conveyor belt sushi restaurant in Beppu!

The exterior of Sushi Meijin

If you head up the mountain from Beppu’s seaside on National Route 500, you will find Sushi Meijin.

I think National Route 500 is one of the steepest national routes.

The Beppu mountains are getting closer and closer.

The sea is visible far below.

It’s only a few minutes drive from the beach, but it’s quite high up.

HitaPapa

It’s located along National Route 500, very close to Kannawa Onsen.

It is just a few minutes’ walk from Kannawa Onsen, where you can visit the hells, see countless rising steam, and enjoy numerous hot springs.

This time, after visiting Kannawa Onsen, I walked to Sushi Meijin.

There is a spacious parking lot in front of the store (free of charge).

HitaPapa

The parking lot is large and easy to park in.

The atmosphere of “Sushi Meijin”

The spacious restaurant has a total of 150 seats, including counter seats and table (box) seats.

The atmosphere is similar to that of a major conveyor belt sushi chain such as Sushiro.

The bright interior makes it an easy place for families with small children to use.

HitaPapa

It’s a bright and spacious store.

There is a conveyor belt, but the sushi does not rotate; instead, you order using a touch panel.

Nowadays, even at major conveyor belt sushi chains, the sushi does not generally move around on a conveyor belt, and in many cases customers order via touch panel.

Ordering via a touch panel is better in terms of both hygiene and food waste.

Once you order on the touch panel, your sushi will arrive on the Shinkansen!

The sushi plates are colored according to price.

All orders are placed via touch panel, but payment is made by counting the plates.

All ordering is done through a touch panel

Sushi Meijin table condiments

Each seat is provided with condiments such as wasabi, pickled ginger, tea, and soy sauce.

Pickle.

It has a great crunchy texture, spiciness and sweetness.

Wasabi.

None of the sushi comes with wasabi, so add some if you like.

I like it quite generously.

Put about a spoonful of powdered tea into a teacup, add hot water and your green tea is ready!

The water is hot, so be careful not to get burned.

Before eating the sushi, we prepared soy sauce, pickled ginger, and wasabi on a small plate!

“Sushi Meijin” menu

All ordering is done via touch panel, but there is an easy-to-read menu at each seat.

There are many types of plates available at 115 yen, 150 yen, and 220 yen, and most sushi can be had for up to 220 yen.

All of them are quite reasonably priced.

There’s also plenty of sushi that small children would enjoy, so it’s a great place for families.

The menu also includes a wide range of fried foods, noodles, sweets, and drinks.

HitaPapa

The menu is extensive, with plenty of reasonably priced sushi at 115 yen, 150 yen, and 220 yen.

Let’s have some sushi!

Red tuna (220 yen)

The lean tuna served was something that was somewhere between lean and medium fatty tuna!

It’s soft and has just the right amount of fat, making it delicious.

Sea bream (280 yen)

Sea bream with a nice crunchy texture.

The more you chew it, the more you can taste the sweetness of the sea bream.

Fatty salmon (220 yen)

Fatty salmon with just the right amount of fat.

The soft ingredients melt in your mouth and spread their aroma.

Horse mackerel (150 yen)

Fresh horse mackerel.

It has no smell at all and is very delicious!!

I like blue fish such as horse mackerel and sardines, so I’m very happy when I can find cheap, tasty, odorless blue fish at a conveyor belt sushi restaurant.

Premium squid (220 yen)

Squid with a nice crunchy texture.

It has just the right amount of elasticity, and the more you chew it, the sweeter it tastes.

Horse meat sashimi (220 yen)

I ordered horse sashimi, which is rare at a conveyor belt sushi restaurant.

The meat is soft, but has just the right amount of elasticity and is delicious.

There was almost no odor.

I think this is a pretty good deal at 220 yen per plate!

Sardines (115 yen)

After the horse mackerel, we ordered sardines, another blue fish.

It has just the right amount of fat and no unpleasant odor!

It’s great to be able to eat fresh blue fish sushi at a reasonable price.

Octopus (150 yen)

Octopus with a refreshing taste.

The chewy texture and gentle flavor are delicious.

Ryukyu (220 yen)

Enjoy Oita’s specialty “Ryukyu” in a gunkan boat!

It is topped with various chopped fish seasoned with sesame sauce.

It’s packed with plenty of ingredients and is very satisfying to eat!

It’s a great value dish♪

Udon (220 yen)

To finish off, we’ll have some udon noodles!

When I come to a conveyor belt sushi restaurant, I almost always eat udon noodles at the end.

This udon has a delicious, refreshing broth.

Sushi is cold, so I want to eat some warm udon at the end.

HitaPapa

You can eat delicious sushi at reasonable prices.

Thank you for the meal!!
